Effectiveness of implant therapy analyzed in a Swedish population

The interesting fact about this research is that it is conducted to a much greater scale than the typical research related to dental implants survival. The study reports about results assessed in a large and randomly selected patient sample. Its primary purpose of the study was to report the effectiveness of dental implants. The authors went all the way back to 2003 and gathered the records of 4 716 patients and 11 311 implants in total. According to the results, only 4,4% of the patients experienced early implants loss, and just 4,2% lost one or more implants at a later stage (they were examined 9 years later). Inside the study, additional information shows which individual factors increase the risk of dental implants loss.
